These days, the use of modern machine data acquisition systems with access to CAQ, DNC, MDA, or PDA databases via network connections is a key success factor for manufacturing businesses. Production signals are captured automatically, processed by the COSCOM MDA/PDA system, and managed in the standard database for evaluation and identification of both key indicators and production data.

WLAN means network without wire. Simple, fast, and present wherever the user happens to be at the time. Consequently, WLAN is the enhancement of Ethernet LAN/networking via LAN wire. Ethernet LAN network connections have proved their worth in many industrial applications. Independent of whether they are used for data communication between industrial PC and a server, or for maintenance using the notebook of a service engineer - modern industrial systems have been fitted with network connections for some time and are able to communicate with other systems using TCP/IP protocols. The solution can be upgraded completely with modules such as barcode or LEGIC readers.
